These are the terms and conditions by which Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy provides a sports massage service to you.

 

Accepting these terms and conditions

Starting or continuing therapy with us requires that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.

 

Red flags and diagnosis

You must understand that massage therapists cannot diagnose any medical conditions, illnesses, diseases or any other medical or physical disorder as we are not medically trained. All red flag concerns will be referred to a medical professional. We reserve the right to refuse treatment. It is not our responsibility to ensure you follow our referral advice.

If you are in any doubt about the severity of your symptoms or our ability to help you manage them, please contact a medical professional.

Liability

Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy will not be liable for any damage that may be caused as a result of your failure to disclose medical details that may make treatment inappropriate. Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy will not be liable for any muscle soreness, discoloration of the skin or bruising following a sports massage treatment, as these can be expected.

About Sports Massage

Massage is a treatment which aims to relax, revive and heal the body. Using hands-on movements and manipulation of the soft tissues and muscles in the body, massage therapy works to promote healing and enhance a person’s overall well-being.

Our service does not offer to or suggest we can completely resolve symptoms. As a therapist it is not possible for us to guarantee results. We take this point seriously and aim to assist our clients towards positive change.

​

Our treatments, home care advice and exercise plans are based on our understanding of best practice, with the goal to help manage your symptoms. As a professional therapist we try to keep up to date with the latest advancements in massage application. We will always be willing to change our treatment philosophy based on new improvements in research.

We do not offer any money back guarantee with our services. We will refer you to another practitioner if we belive your symptoms can't be managed within our scope of practice.

Payment and cancellation policy

You must pay for each treatment session in advance and in full. You must agree to our 24 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel within the 24 hour period, you will not receive a refund.

​

If you are late to an appointment, it will result in a shorter session and will still be charged at the full amount. If you miss an appointment, you will not receive a refund.

​

Location of sessions

Therapy sessions are in-clinic and in your own home or workplace. If the therapist is running late you will be contacted by phone. If the session has to be cancelled by the therapist, you will be refunded the full amount.

You agree to our contacting you via email or text message. If you prefer contact only by phone, please contact us by phone.

Appointment confirmation

We will send you an email to confirm your appointment using the details you have provided. If you entered your email address incorrectly then you will not receive this email confirmation. When booking your appointment, you also have the option to receive a reminder text message 24 hours before your appointment. By signing up to the member login, you will be able to book, reschedule and cancel your appointments.

Appointment payment

Payment must be made at the time of booking your appointment, by card payment or PayPal.

Appointment setup

In the first 10 minutes of your appointment, Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy will set up the treatment area. We need enough space for a massage couch with surrounding space for the therapist to work. Then we deliver the treatment for 45 minutes. Finally, we take 5 minutes to pack up.

Duration of treatments

The initial consultation and first treatment is 60 minutes. Follow up treatments are usually 45 minutes.

​

Medical History

You must provide Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy with correct information about your medical history and update us if it changes during your treatment program. During your initial consultation, you will fill out a consultation form including all previous medical history and we ask for your written consent to receive treatment.

​

Mike Silkstone Sports Massage Therapy is unable to offer treatments during pregnancy although we will recommend another practitioner who will be able to help. 

​

Course of treatment

There is no specific length of treatment program. Each patient is treated individually. We do not enlist people on long term treatment programs. We will review progress with you and evaluate your improvement before the start of each follow-up treatment. If we feel your needs are beyond our scope of practice, we reserve the right to terminate our contract or refer you to a specialist practitioner. We will discuss this with you during treatment.

By signing up to our members login you can view your upcoming bookings as well as your booking history. You can also book treatments, reschedule or cancel any appointments.
